WHAT'S INCLUDED IN THE PRICE?

So much is covered in the cost, including return travel from the UK; river-view staterooms; all onboard meals with wine, beer and soft drinks at lunch and dinner; excursions and much more. On itineraries with land stays, your hotels are also included.

WHAT ARE THE SHIPS LIKE?

Viking ships set the standard in comfort and design. Our ships accommodate around 190 guests, and all of our ships are light, airy and wonderfully spacious. Panoramic windows throughout make the most of the ever-changing views; it's like staying in a comfortable floating hotel — one that travels with you.

WHAT TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION CAN I EXPECT?

If you haven't traveled with Viking before, stepping inside one of our staterooms may take you by surprise. All our staterooms are outside, with a river view. Roomy and filled with light, they offer ensuite facilities and plenty of storage space. There's a wide range of different staterooms to choose from, some with verandas, and two-room suites.

IS THERE SPACE TO RELAX ON BOARD?

Yes, every ship offers a choice of public areas where you can sit back and watch the world go by. Relax on the Sun Deck, enjoy a drink in the stylish and spacious Lounge, or on the new Viking Longships, unwind as you dine in the open air on the Aquavit Terrace – the most al fresco dining available on the river.

WHAT DO YOU DO DURING THE DAY?

Unlike some ocean cruises, you won't spend any long days at sea. Every day, you explore somewhere new. There's a great selection of excursions (including visits to UNESCO World Heritage Sites) that are included in the cost. Plus, onboard events, activities and performances that add to the pleasure of your journey.

...SO IS THERE MUCH WALKING INVOLVED?

Our itineraries include many excursions with a certain amount of walking. We advise that in order to take full advantage of the tours, our guests should be able to walk 1-2 miles over uneven streets and up stairs. Call our Customer Services Team at 0800 319 66 60 if you have any questions regarding mobility.

CAN I EXPLORE ON MY OWN?

Of course you are welcome to discover each and every place independently — your onboard concierge or receptionist can help you make the most of your time ashore.

WHAT'S THE FOOD LIKE ON BOARD?

The food you’ll experience aboard a Viking river cruise ship is exceptional. From a sumptuous breakfast and delicious lunch to a five-course dinner, you’ll enjoy the finest cuisine. You'll be treated to traditional favorites and regional specialties. Lighter and vegetarian options are also available.

DO I HAVE TO DRESS UP FOR DINNER?

No, you don't have to dress formally for dinner. One of the things guests love about a river cruise with Viking is the relaxed dress code in the elegant but informal Restaurant.

...AND DO WE HAVE TO SIT AT THE SAME TABLE EVERY NIGHT?

Our restaurants are open-seating, so you can choose to sit where you like. It's a great way to get to meet different people, or enjoy a quiet meal together.

HOW DO I GET THERE?

All our holidays include flights from the UK — with regional flights from selected airports at no extra cost. We'll meet you at your overseas airport and take you to your ship. At the end of your cruise, we'll take you back to the airport — so there's no need to worry, everything is taken care of.

WILL I GET SEA SICK?

No, one of the many advantages of river cruising is that there is no wave motion, so no sea-sickness. You're always close to the riverbank, and those wonderful views.

IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE I SHOULD KNOW?

You may like to know that when you book your holiday with Viking, your money is safe and fully protected. As members of ABTA, Viking is a fully bonded and licensed tour operator, with air holidays protected by ATOL and administered by the CAA. All of which gives you complete peace of mind.
