Jingzhou River Cruises
With a strategic location in the central region of the Yangtze River, Jingzhou has long been a city of great military importance. For more than 6,000 years, its location on these waters has also played a part in Jingzhou’s role as a transportation hub. During the Zhou Dynasty, from 1046 BC to 256 BC, the smaller ancient city of Ying, within today’s Jingzhou, served as the seat of 20 kings; 18 have been preserved within numerous ancient sites. Many city walls, gates and watchtowers have been remarkably preserved, which helps Jingzhou strike a dramatic pose along the Yangtze’s banks.
