Christmas Along the Elbe

The cruise and Viking staff were outstanding

My husband and I cruised on the Elbe for our 24th wedding anniversary. Overall, the cruise and the Viking staff were wonderful. First, the staff and service were outstanding, particularly Matt and Sylvia. We lost our luggage and did not get it back for 5 days, but Viking called the airport several times a day and went to the airport to track down our luggage. In the meantime, housekeeping did our laundry every day and did a double quick turn around so we always had clean clothes. The rest of the Beyla staff were great too! All the transfers were seamless. All the drivers and local guides were very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The stops along the Elbe were all very interesting. Anyone doing this cruise should do the Berlin extension since Berlin is a great and fascinating city. The Beyla is a lovely and comfortable ship. We loved the small size and we were lucky to have very congenial passengers so the lounge was very nice every night. The decor of the ship was very nice and comfortable. Overall, we had a great time and definitely would consider doing another river cruise.
