Conditions of entry
1. The competition is only open to past Viking Cruises guests. This excludes employees and agents of Viking or any company connected with the production or distribution of this competition, as well as their relatives or members of their family or household. 2. Entrants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of entry, and must have cruised at least once with Viking. Proof of eligibility must be provided upon request. By entering the competition you are deemed to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions. 3. The competition is free to enter and entrants can enter by sending photographs of their garden to uk-marketing@vikingcruises.com. Only one entry will be accepted per person.By entering the competition, you are agreeing for Viking to use the images you submit to further promote the competition both online and in Viking’s printed materials. 4. The competition will start on at 00.01 8th March 2019 (“Opening Date”) and the closing time/date for the competition is 23.59 30th June 2019 (“Closing Date”). The Closing Date of the competition cannot be extended. 5. There will be one winner who will be selected by the independent judging panel from all eligible entries, held in July 2019 . The gardens will be judged on the following criteria: • Use of colour combinations, original thinking and colours that contrast or balance well with each other. • Clever seasonal planting • Unique features, including focal points, garden furniture or buildings • A good use of space – gardens designed for relaxation and enjoyment • Good for wildlife, including insects, birds and small mammals The winner will be notified by 31 July 2019 and will be given details of how to accept their prize. Failure by the winner to accept the prize in the manner specified within 14 days of the Promoter's email will make any claim invalid and the Promoter will then award the prize to the second place runner up who will be contacted as above. 6. The prize is an 8-day cruise for two people sharing a C grade French Balcony Stateroom on Viking’s Romantic Danube river cruise. The cruise can only be taken during 2020 . The cruise includes the following: Scheduled economy class flights from London Heathrow to Budapest and from Munich to London Heathrow, or vice versa depending on direction of the cruise 8-day cruise visiting 3 countries 6 guided tours All meals on board Specially selected house wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner on board Free tea, coffee and snacks any time on board Free Wi-Fi on board All port charges, government taxes and overseas transfers 7. The prize winner and companion will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the London airport and all associated costs. Travel insurance and gratuities are not included. Any other expenses incurred in connection with the prize will be the sole responsibility of the prize winner and their companion. 8. The prize winner will be responsible for supplying valid passports with a minimum six months validity, and, where necessary, for obtaining appropriate vaccinations and inoculations. It is strongly recommended that travellers take out adequate travel insurance. 9. Viking Cruises cannot be responsible for unforeseen cancellations or changes in dates or times of flights or cancellation of the holiday due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control. 10. The holiday is ABTA and ATOL protected. 11. Viking Cruises cannot be responsible for entries that are lost, damaged or incomplete. 12. The prize is not transferable and cannot be re-sold. There is no cash alternative. The Promoter reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute the prize with one of equal or greater value. 13. The name and county of the prize winner will be available after the closing date by submitting a written request to the Promoter or by visiting vikingcruises.co.uk/competitions. 14. By accepting the prize, the winner also agrees to take part in any reasonable post promotion publicity by Viking, including featuring them and their winning garden in Viking marketing including Explore More magazine, social media and on Viking’s website. 15. The determination and decision of the Promoter on all matters shall be final and no promotional correspondence or discussion will be entered into. The Promoter reserves the right in its reasonable discretion: (a) to disqualify any claimant, competitor or nominee whose conduct is contrary to the spirit of the rules or the intention of the competition and to declare as void any or all of their claims or entries based on such conduct. 16. No entries will be accepted in bulk, from agents or third parties. 17. The Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to modify, suspend or cancel the competition should virus, bugs, tampering, fraud or other causes beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter corrupt or hinder the administration, security or proper play of the competition. 18. The competition and these terms and conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales and the parties agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. 19.
