During Advent, Zürich’s Bahnhofstrasse is illuminated by Lucy, an installation of thousands of crystals and LED lights that extend from the main station toward the lake. Nearby, Rennweg and Neumarkt offer a quieter setting, with festive displays suspended above narrow lanes and small squares. Candle-making workshops continue a local custom established in 1969, while concerts and seasonal performances are held across the city. Throughout the city, wooden chalets serve simmering pots of cheese fondue and drinks, offering a warm respite during the winter season.
