Every crew member treated you like royalty, with a kindness that felt genuine and a professionalism that felt effortless. From the moment you stepped on board, they learned your rhythms, your preferences, your smile—and they met every need before you even had to speak it. The Stateroom Team makes your room feel like a sanctuary. The musicians, especially the one whose music touched your heart, created moments that felt like worship in motion. The spa team, the kitchen teams, every restaurant, every show, every guest services interaction—not once did you hear “no.” They made things happen seamlessly, quietly and joyfully. It wasn’t service. It was care. It wasn’t performance. It was heart. And it became one of the most meaningful parts of the entire journey.

2013A life-changing experience.
My wife, Linda, and I had never taken a cruise of any kind. I was stationed in the U.S. Army in Germany in the 1970s and wanted to go back to see the things I missed then. We chose Viking’s European Sojourn, going from the North Sea to the Black Sea, and we could not have been more pleased with our trip. The crew of Viking Longship Aegir really went out of their way to ensure that everyone had a great time. Our cabin wasn’t huge (it is a river ship after all) but well-appointed and met all of our needs; the outlets for our American electronics were very handy. Our Program Directors were everywhere doing everything; I have never seen two people work so hard. Our tours were great and we saw things we never could have seen on our own. Local English-speaking guides were provided at each stop to tell us all about the amazing things we saw. The food at every meal was amazing and service was top rate at every single meal. Something we did not think would happen: we met four other couples who are now our best friends, one couple in England we are planning to visit and three couples who live in the States. I can’t recommend Viking more highly. We were well taken care of and have no complaints or reservations about the cruise. For us, our Viking cruise was a life-changing experience. We have already booked a trip to China for 2014 and are looking seriously into taking one of the new Viking ocean cruises the year after that. We trust Viking which has become our go-to cruise line and we really don’t plan on using anyone else.
